Business Intelligence Analyst

Operations EngineeringRemote (US)Full-time$100,000 - $150,000

Syntas is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to help our clients transform raw data into actionable insights that drive better decision-making. You will design data pipelines, build reporting systems, and create analytics dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into their operations—enhanced by AI capabilities that surface patterns and anomalies humans might miss. This role combines traditional BI skills with modern data engineering and AI augmentation. You will work with clients across industries to understand their metrics, build the data infrastructure to track them reliably, and deliver reporting solutions that become essential tools for running their businesses.

About the Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Syntas, you will be the bridge between raw operational data and the insights that drive business decisions. Every client has data scattered across systems—CRM, ERP, support tickets, marketing platforms, custom applications—and your job is to bring it together into coherent, trustworthy reporting that leadership can act on with confidence.

Your work begins with understanding what questions clients need to answer. What metrics actually matter for their business? How do they currently track performance? Where are the gaps in visibility? You will conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders across functions—sales, operations, finance, customer success—to understand their reporting needs and define the KPIs that will form the foundation of your analytics solution.

From there, you will build the data infrastructure to support reliable reporting. This means designing data models, building ETL pipelines that extract from source systems, transforming data into analysis-ready formats, and loading into warehouses or BI tools. You will implement data quality checks, handle edge cases and missing data gracefully, and create documentation so clients can maintain and extend the systems you build.

The AI dimension of this role elevates traditional BI into something more powerful. You will implement automated anomaly detection that alerts stakeholders to unusual patterns. You will build natural language interfaces that let non-technical users query data conversationally. You will create AI-powered narrative generation that explains what dashboards are showing and why it matters. These capabilities transform static reports into intelligent systems that proactively surface insights.

What You Will Build

  • 1
Executive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into operational and financial KPIs
  • 2
ETL pipelines that extract data from diverse sources and transform it for analysis
  • 3
Data models and warehouse schemas optimized for reporting and self-service analytics
  • 4
Automated reporting systems that generate and distribute insights on schedule
  • 5
AI-powered anomaly detection that proactively alerts stakeholders to unusual patterns
  • 6
Natural language query interfaces that let users ask questions of their data conversationally
