Cloud Solutions Architect

InfrastructureRemote (US)Full-time$160,000 - $220,000

Syntas is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to design and implement cloud infrastructure that powers our clients' AI initiatives and business-critical applications. You will work across AWS, GCP, and Azure to create architectures that are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and purpose-built for modern workloads including AI/ML training and inference, data pipelines, and high-availability applications. This senior role requires deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform combined with broad knowledge across the cloud ecosystem. You will serve as the technical authority on infrastructure decisions, guiding clients through complex migrations, greenfield deployments, and architecture modernization efforts.

About the Role

As a Cloud Solutions Architect at Syntas, you will be the technical leader responsible for infrastructure decisions that shape how our clients' systems perform, scale, and evolve. Cloud architecture is not just about deploying resources—it is about understanding business requirements, anticipating future needs, and designing systems that serve both effectively. Your architectures will run everything from AI inference endpoints to customer-facing applications to data processing pipelines.

The variety of challenges in this role keeps the work engaging. One client might need a cost-optimized GPU cluster for training custom ML models. Another requires a multi-region deployment with strict data sovereignty requirements for European expansion. A third needs to migrate from a legacy on-premise setup to cloud-native infrastructure without disrupting their business. You will bring a consultative approach to each engagement, understanding the specific context before recommending solutions.

AI workloads are a particular focus for our infrastructure practice. You will design architectures that serve LLM inference at scale with appropriate latency characteristics, build data pipelines that feed training workflows, and implement vector databases and retrieval systems that power RAG applications. Understanding the unique requirements of AI workloads—GPU utilization, memory patterns, batch vs. real-time inference—will be central to your work.

We value architects who can communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. You should be comfortable presenting infrastructure roadmaps to CTOs, diving deep into Terraform modules with engineers, and explaining cost implications to finance teams. The best cloud architects combine technical depth with the ability to translate infrastructure decisions into business impact.

What You Will Build

  • 1
Multi-cloud architectures spanning AWS, GCP, and Azure optimized for specific workload requirements
  • 2
AI/ML infrastructure including GPU clusters, model serving platforms, and training pipelines
  • 3
Kubernetes-based container platforms with appropriate networking, security, and observability
  • 4
Data lake and warehouse architectures that support analytics and machine learning workloads
  • 5
Disaster recovery and business continuity solutions with defined RPO/RTO objectives
  • 6
Cost optimization frameworks including FinOps practices, reserved capacity strategies, and rightsizing
  • 7
Security architectures implementing zero-trust principles, encryption, and compliance controls

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering for cloud infrastructure projects
  • Design comprehensive cloud architectures that address performance, security, cost, and operational requirements
  • Architect solutions on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure using native services and best practices
  • Create infrastructure designs for AI/ML workloads including training, inference, and data processing
  • Develop Kubernetes architectures for containerized applications with appropriate scaling and networking
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation for repeatable deployments
  • Design security architectures including IAM, network isolation, encryption, and compliance controls
  • Create cost optimization strategies and implement FinOps practices for cloud spend management
  • Lead cloud migration planning including assessment, sequencing, and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with development teams to design application architectures that leverage cloud-native services
  • Document architecture decisions, create runbooks, and develop operational procedures
  • Present architectural recommendations to client stakeholders and guide technical decision-making
  • Mentor team members on cloud best practices and emerging technologies
